Local accountancy practice Moores Rowland has announced major expansion plans, through a merger with international accountancy and advisory group, Mazars.
Established in Jersey since 1975, the firm (formerly a member firm of Moores Rowland International) will be known as Mazars Channel Islands Limited.
Mazars is an integrated international firm specialising in audit, accounting, tax and advisory services. Expansion of the practice into the Channel Islands will enable the former Moores Rowland team to develop its already strong base in Jersey and broaden the range of services to its existing banking and financial services clients.
The Jersey team will be led by former Moores Rowland Jersey partners Adam Budworth and Jason Lees-Baker, in co-ordination with Mazars’ financial services expert, Rudi Lang.
Commenting on the merger, Adam Budworth said:

The combined experience and expertise of both companies will bring more competition into the Island’s financial services community, and will open the doors for our Jersey clients to Mazars’ network of 8,000 professionals in 42 countries around the world”.

The merger is the latest in Mazars’ ongoing international expansion strategy. Other recent developments include new offices in Germany, South Africa, India and China.
Internationally, Mazars operates as a single integrated firm in 42 countries and reported global turnover of €550 million for the year ended 31 August 2006.
Mazars’ clients include international corporate groups and listed companies (17% of the GTSEurofirst 100), public sector bodies, a wide range of owner-managed businesses and numerous private individuals.
